Rectangular silver guilded case with fluted corners.

The oval lid enamel painting on the exterior of a horseman on a horse and on the interior brightly enamelled with flower bouquets on a turquoise ground. When activated the lid opens to reveal  the singing and dancing feathered automaton bird. Turning his head, flapping his wings and tail and opening his beak while singing a joyful song.

The top, sides and base with engine-turned scroll ornament furthermore black enamel linings to the top of the case. At the and of the song the  a small turquoise-feathered singing bird hides in a opening in a pierced oval grille. This is a the fusee movement inscribed ”Jacques Bruguier”
