Cylinder Music Box with Exposed Controls

€3,800.00

Beautiful, early and rare music box probably made by Lecoultre in the early 19th century. This early music box plays 6 melodies on a 25.5cm cylinder. At the beginning of the 19th century, boxes of excellent musical quality were built. This box is an outstanding example. The controls are on the outside of the box as one would expect from a music box of this period. The serial number is 7030 and can be found on the base plate (top left) and at the bottom of the box. The box was manufactured around 1835.

The case, with mahogany veneer, is rather simple and therefore timeless. The whole thing, case and mechanism, was restored to its original grandeur (in our own workshop) and can guarantee another 100 years of pleasure.
